Political Rant

I can see the why and benefits of the government logging calls, but they're pushing it. Why just Verizon? Terrorists don't like T-Mobile? The government more and more pushes what they can and cannot control. There is such a thing as too much government. It often seems we cannot make a real and true change; it often seems it is not a government for or by the people. And why all the hate on republicans? Democrats aren't politicians? The real reasons Romney lost? People believed commercials, thought obama was our bestie because he's black, hated romney because he was LDS, white, we've had white republican older guys in office before. News flash? Obama is not poor, is a politician, and causes just as many issues as white people. He won partially because of prejudice. I'm so sick of all this drama, you'd think it was high school. Sometimes I just want to declare anarchy! (JK, don't come
swarm my house government!) I'm done with it. Go guns. Go freedom of speech and religion. Go rights. Go gov. BY and FOR the people.

P.S. Excuse the rant
P.P.S. May throw in some fun crafts cooking etc.

Verizon wearing a wire

Life is Starting

This photo is my childhood. Being now officially a senior in high school, everything is escalating. Along with the excitement comes terror. I'm excited to be whoever I wish and to do senior things. I'm excited to be rid of drama, to design my senior crown, to travel the world. However, I see the reality that surrounds me, that impacts my life, and I cannot ignore. I must hope for the best, but sometimes must prepare for and expect the worst. I still need to learn to drive. I will have to pay for everything. I don't know how I'll pay for college, because there is a possibility I won't receive aid or scholarships. Some people may think I don't have to and shouldn't worry about this yet, but I have no choice. I am going to get everything out of being seventeen that I can, and, hopefully, I'll be able to make life work for me. This summer (this year) I'm going to work hard and have fun.

Now that I can blog on the go, I'll have more regular posts. We'll see how this goes, and I hope I'm not just writing this message to myself. Ttys

Beautiful

At church today, I sat in my classroom, waiting as the young women filed in. Most of these girls woke up today, probably too tired to put on makeup. My best friend laughed and said she was, "Au naturale". However, she then admitted it was just because she was lazy. I wore makeup today, not because I felt I had to have it on, but because I felt some eyeliner and mascara would bring out my eyes. But as I looked at each of these girls, in their bare faces, not one of them wasn't beautiful. They laughed with each other, welcomed visitors, participated freely, harassed their friend. Each of these girls were beautiful. I could see what makeup might have added to their natural glory, but I aslso saw what it couldn't. These girls are daughters of God, amazing creations with divine qualities. They are my friends, my sisters, and they are their own perfect.

I Believe in Santa

Santa is real. He is a symbol of love, charity, hope, dreams. He is the love of God. He is the smile of bouncing children. He is the missing cookie. He is the help of neighbors. He is the secret gift on your doorstep that paid the bills. He is holiday specials. He is reruns. He is being employed. He is visiting a sick grandparent. He is covering the change. He is the holiday spirit.
I feel as if I believed in him more this year than ever. As money got tight, as I bought gifts, as I recieved help from others, I believed. As I exchanged gifts with friends who loved me no matter what, I believed. As I prayed for strength, I believed. As someone said they wished he was real, I believed.
As dawn nine in the morning approached., I saw a plate covered in crumbs where there had once been cookies, and a glass of milk half empty. Santa had come alright, but not just Christmas Eve.

Back to Life

First, I'd like to apologize for not posting. But now that I have more reliable internet access I'll be posting every week(at least to start), probably on Saturdays.

Life has shifted from lazy summertime to busy all the way. I have work, school, seminary, homework, church callings, the occasional tutoring and babysitting, and then finding time to facebook, read, post, etc. All in all, life is going insane. Now any logical person would believe that I myself were insane or that I am about to, which makes sense. (You know, lack of sleep combined with deadlines, junk food, and worries.) But I've found that I become much happier when I'm busy than when laying idle. In fact, Mark Burnett, a man I've never met and know nothing about, has offered this bit of wisdom: "There's nothing like biting off more than you can chew, and then chewing it anyway."
In this chunk of illogical wisdom, I see success. Doing all you can, which seems like too much, and doing it. Being the one who's not like any other. Not going on dates with jerks and vegging out, but finding what I love and doing it.
I love the things I do, and I plan to do them. I want to be doing what I'm doing, even if I'd also like days to sleep. I give up time, (especially night time), for things that make me happy, will help me grow, and will bring me personal success.
A busy bee is surrounded by sweetness, even if it sometimes wants to sting you.
Always,
TJW
